After the lack of a show for you and the band, practices sputter, then stop altogether. You feel a little sad about it, but it does give you more free time and is one less thing to worry about.

You work a couple more weeks, then decide it's time for a vacation. You have already decided on Japan as your destination and are planning to go with a couple of your fellow foreign friends from another school.

You go to talk to the owner about booking a week off, with the experience of your last encounter with him fresh in your mind.

Again, he tells you that a full week off would be impossible. He tells you that, as you are the only foreign teacher at your school, there would be no way for you to go away for an entire week without completely disrupting the entire school. He says he is willing to give you two days, one on each side of a weekend. You:

accept his logic and his offer.

argue about it, demanding a 'real' vacation, like all the other foreign teachers in Korea get.
